2020 Wildacres Retreat (4/27 - 4/30, 2020) canceled

Senior Scholars cancelled its annual retreat at Wildacres due to the Coronavirus pandemic as did other scheduled groups. With Wildacres closed, most of the staff would not be needed until the group restrictions are lifted. To provide financial assistance to the affected staff, The Wildacres Committee recommended that registrants have the opportunity to donate a portion of their refunded registration fee, suggested at $25, to an employee fund. The Wildacres Committee also recommended that a substantial portion of the Wildacres Reserve Fund from prior years’ surpluses also be donated. The Senior Scholars Board of Directors approved both initiatives.

The Committee is pleased to announce that $5,100 was donated to assist the furloughed Wildacres employees. Our registrants donated $2,600 and the Wildacres Reserve Fund donated $2,500. None of these funds came from member dues or any other Senior Scholars receipts.

Wildacres Retreat management was very pleasantly surprised and most grateful for our group’s kindness.
